While Kamala Harris and Donald Trump were celebrating their election parties, I drove to a polling station in southern Mississippi - in the countryside. Voters are queuing outside the door. An estimated 70 percent are black. Why do they vote? Do they believe in voter fraud?
The differences between Trump and Harris voters become apparent just by listening. That's why the podcast is “pure”, without off-commentary from me. Just the voters and me in spontaneous conversation. Guaranteed to be unposed. Repetition of sentences makes it easier to get used to the southern dialect.
Two poll workers finally put an end to my interview. They point out to me that, as a media representative, I have to keep 150 feet away from the polling station. Fortunately, they don't take my microphone or my smartphone. A pretty unique experience with a view into a polling station and refreshing conversations with voters - instead of statements from politicians.
